The Company and the ArtistFrom collecting rocks on the beach as a child to more recent adventures mining crystals in Sweden, California artist Jan Greenberg has always been attracted to stones. Today, she has turned her passion into wearable art, creating jewelry pieces inspired not only by the beauty of natural stones, but also to showcase their inherent healing properties. California jewelry designer Jan Greenberg is introducing her new line of jewelry combining beauty and spirit. The line includes necklaces, bracelets and earrings that are composed using semi-precious stones (known for their healing properties), sterling silver, and Swarovski crystal beads. The sterling silver used in each piece is found in the silver beads, settings, clasps, and charms to incorporate the property of silver as a source of grounding and hope. The new line has stones that enhance positive energy and relieve stress. "Because I personally believe in the healing properties of stones, and also wanted to give the benefit of wearing something beautiful at the same time." I specifically chose stones that bring the wearer positive energy - to make them feel more grounded and safe." The Healing Properties Greenberg's work studying the healing properties of stones and crystals has gone on for several years. "The more I learn the more convinced I am that stones connect us to the earth, and to the natural healing properties of the earth. It's a phenomenon that's been documented for centuries. And while many people may not consciously believe in the power that stones deliver, I believe that the stones' healing energy is present regardless of their belief. It makes me smile as I watch people respond to this jewelry." The JaniGems line features onyx (for happiness and protection), tiger eye (for grounding and balance), hematite (for concentration and balance), rose quartz (for love and healing), quartz crystal (for healing and balance), and smoky quartz (for security, focus and self esteem) along with other semi-precious stones from around the world. A Portion of the Profits Donated to Ovarian Cancer Research Greenberg, a survivor of ovarian cancer, donates part of the profits from each piece she sells to ovarian cancer research groups. |
